Greater Addo: Nature Conservation

Experience life as a ranger

Live and volunteer in a malaria free private reserve in the Eastern Cape, close to the famous Addo Elephant Park. This program is the perfect opportunity for young volunteers who want to learn about wildlife conservation and experience life in the African bush.

You join a passionate team of rangers who protect some of Africa’s most iconic animals. Think giraffes, elephants, lions, rhinos, buffalo and leopards. Every day brings something new, from tracking animals and collecting data to helping restore natural habitats.

This is real hands on conservation work. You learn practical field skills, explore breathtaking landscapes and contribute to the long term protection of wildlife. In your free time you can join day trips to the coast for canoeing, surfing or even bungee jumping.
